Ayurveda is what was revealed to the seers of India thousands of years ago. They came to understand the principles by which health and well-being are created and destroyed. This medicine promotes positive health, natural beauty, and long life.

As the oldest known medical science, Ayurveda is as useful today as it was in centuries past. It teaches us that health and beauty are the results of a powerful energy within us. The more of that energy we have in us, the better we will look and feel. Maximizing this energy is the main goal of Ayurveda.

Ayurveda fits well in today’s society, with modern models of healing. And concerned with a broad view of the whole health of the individual: physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  It offers a deeper awareness of how the body interacts with the universe and vice-versa.

Holistic beauty treatments include skin care, diet, massage, and exercise routines that are customized for every person, and reflects their unique needs. And will require different treatments and remedies to help us be our best.

Ayurveda is about restoring balance to the elements.

What does it mean to be in harmony or balance with nature? Thousands of years ago, the rishis, “knowers of reality” who gave us Ayurvedic medicine, answered this question. They said that you and I, along with everything else in the universe, are made up of the same five constituents: space, air, fire, water, and earth. These elements are present in everyone. So each of us has them in a different proportion, a different balance.

Just like DNA, your particular mixture of elements is set at conception and remains constant throughout life. It determines your basic characteristics, including your skin type. Illness can result when there are deviations, and or imbalances in your constitutional formula due to physical, mental, behavioral, or environmental factors. This medicine works by restoring balance to the elements, which will mean something different for each person.

What are Doshas?

These five elements do not exist separately within us. Instead, they unite to form three distinct energy forces, called doshas. Each dosha is a combination of two of five elements, all are present to some degree in each person.

This is how we maintain the balance of three energies or doshas, known as #Vata, #Pitta, and #Kapha. The purpose of #Ayurveda is to bring these energies into harmony. So they promote physical, emotional and spiritual growth. Treatments are designed to return energies to a harmonious balance rather than concentrate on what their imbalance manifests.
