COCONUT – Is it the #1 Beauty Oil
Coconut oil has to be the most versatile oil on the planet. It has so many uses that it would be impossible to mention them all here. So here are 6 of my favorite ways to use coconut oil in my beauty routine.

Once upon a time you had a dream you had perfect hair, perfect skin.….then you realized you weren’t dreaming!
Even on its own, coconut oil is an amazing ingredient that you can use in your daily routine.
#1 Make-up Remover:
Before you spend money on a product designed to remove makeup, consider using coconut oil to do the trick. You can use a cotton ball and just a bit of oil and use it to wipe eye makeup off.
If your skin is not prone to acne, you can do all over your face to remove the last bits of foundation after cleansing. Those with acne prone skin may be better off using grapeseed oil to remove facial makeup.
#2 Leave-in Conditioner? You Betcha! :
Dry hair got you feeling less than glamorous? Coconut oil can help with that, too.
Massage some into your ends after your normal styling routine, or apply generously all over your hair and leave it on overnight (make sure to cover your pillow with a towel). In the morning, make sure you wash it out thoroughly before conditioning and styling as normal.
This super moisturizer will help restore shine and softness to dry, overworked hair.
#3 Oil Pulling, yup you read it right Oil Pulling:
If not, get the full scoop here.
Oil pulling is the ancient practice of rinsing one’s mouth with oil to remove toxins and bacteria. Traditionally sesame oil is preferred, but many people use coconut oil instead, because frankly it tastes a lot better and gives similar benefits.
In addition to helping you maintain a super clean mouth, oil pulling helps whiten teeth as well! Now who wouldn’t benefit from this ancient practice? This is one practice that is part of all the WELLTODO Lifestyle cleanses.
#4 Lip Balm:
Kissable lips everytime! It does the trick, relieving chapped lips and giving your pout a shiny finish. Recycle a old lip balm container, add some coconut oil (melt first of course), plus a drop or two of peppermint essential oil. This makes for a super refreshing lip treatment. We recommend kissing someone immediately after applying.
#5 A moisturizing Face Mask:
For some people, moisturizing with coconut oil clogs their pores and causes breakouts. but applying it as a mask and then washing it off after is a great way to enjoy the moisturizing benefits without clogging your pores.
#6 Body Butter:
On its own, coconut oil makes a great body moisturizer. Add just a few other ingredients and you’ve got something totally luxurious. Check out this Trash is for Tossers (a blog devoted to a waste-free lifestyle, awesome!) video on how to make your own whipped body butter.
