Splashes to keep you Cool this Summer – Donna Kerfoot

If the summer heat leaves you feeling tired and wilted, cool off and get refreshed with homemade body splashes to keep you cool.
Spritzing oneself with floral water (essential oil + water = floral water) has been a favorite cooling and uplifting method for hundreds of years. In fact, floral water has been used in bathing, religious rituals, and even medicine. First, select an essential oil for its fragrance and benefits.
Bergamot, peppermint, lemon, and lavender essential oils all make lovely fragrances for your body splashes.
To promote a cooling sensation, use peppermint. To promote alertness and lift the mood, use bergamot or #lemon essential oils.
Simply add a few drops of essential oil to distilled water in a spray bottle, shake, and spray all over the body (be careful to avoid the eyes). Store in the refrigerator and use often! To promote relaxation, use lavender essential oil.
